Our whole approach comes in three steps — straight from what Gen: Politics was set up to do.

Learn about policy

Understand what public policy actually is, who makes it, and how decisions that affect your life get made — in plain English, not jargon.

Engage in conversations about politics

Talk it through with other young people. Ask questions, compare views, and get comfortable discussing politics out loud.

Take your policy ideas to the next level

Turn an opinion into an idea, and an idea into something you can write, record and share — an article, a post, a podcast conversation.

How we work

Youth-led

Young people aren't just the audience — they're the voice. Content is shaped for, and by, the generation that will live longest with today's policy decisions.

Accessible & plain-English

Policy explained clearly, in short formats first — a post you can read in a minute, then an article or episode when you want to go deeper.

Empowerment, not lectures

The goal is confidence: equipping you to form your own view, explain it, and take part — not telling you what to think.

Participation

Politics is something you do, not just something you watch. We create space to contribute ideas, questions and writing.

Our educational approach: Gen: Politics teaches about public policy — how it works and how to engage with it. We present policy learning in a non-partisan, educational way so people can form their own views.

Primary audience

Youth — 15 to under 25

Students, first-time voters, early-career young people — anyone forming their first real views on politics. If you're in this group, Gen: Politics was literally made for you: learn the basics, join the conversation, and develop your own policy ideas.

Adults who want a clearer, jargon-free way into public policy — to catch up, go deeper, or support the young people in their lives to engage. Our articles, podcast and Instagram explainers are for you too.
